Today is Monday, and I am actually happy I get to start the week off on a good note. I ate an insane amount of chocolate for all of last week, and I’ve been feeling sad and slow…
No problem! I started this week fresh with an Insanity workout! It was a 47-minute long Max Cardio Conditioning video and it kicked my butt.
Actually, it sent my thunder thighs for a fiery ride with all those jumps, ski abs, suicides, and diamond-jumps-followed-by-squat-pulses.
Oh, Shaun T… how I love to hate you. I wish I could be the instructor so I can just stop doing the moves, go around, and tell other people to dig deeper and crap. But I guess he earned the right to do that by looking like this:
Stop smiling, man. You crazy.
I followed up the workout with about 15 minutes on the elliptical (the one I built!!!… which is probably why clicks whenever the right pedal goes down) while watching a super funny guy do his thang:
He doesn’t have to do much to make me crack up.
OMG! Have you guys seen the episode when Shaun T is a guest on Conan? LOVE that episode!
Oh, dang. Conan’s diamond jump is way better than mine.
I made another green smoothie today and it was totally tasty! And I didn’t overblend it this time, hehe.
In the smoothie today:
1 scoop protein powder (24g protein, yo)
1/2 cup water
2 big handfuls of spinach
1 cup frozen berries
I felt like this one was really tasty BUT I ended up having to chew the many seeds, which I’m totally okay with because, hey… it’s fiber, yeah?
I will probably make some kind of green smoothie after all my workouts. The protein, veggies, and fruit in such an easily drinkable form? Yes, please.
I’m in between work and school right now. I had a smartypants kid at work today. He stumped me with a comment/question that I didn’t know how to respond to… so I just pretended like I didn’t hear him.
He could tell I was stumped… meaning I got totally owned… by a 7-year-old. Dangit. Why are some kids so darn smart?? I’m pretty sure a daily viewing of SpongeBob Squarepants will fix this problem.
HEY! I know I haven’t been running like… at all these days… but I’ll be back at a short HOT run tomorrow with Addie and Jane.
Guess what we have going on this weekend? A RACE. They are participating in the 5K and I am going to race a 10K.
The last time I did a 10K, I didn’t have my Garmin with me. This time, I will go for those sub-8’s and attempt to PR. Hope my conditioning isn’t all gone!
