Let me give you a recap of yesterday (July 4th). It started out with a 10-mile run. I was planning on running an 8:30/mile pace, but it ended up being an average of 8:19. Oops.
Then I had to shower and quickly drive up to San Leandro for a 4th of July Fair.
There were people who drove their awesome cars in for an auto show, and then a lot of bouncy houses and games for the little ones. I was stationed at this bouncy house:
And I kind of made an impulse buy:
Haha, just kidding. I sat in it for fun. Sorry to say… I have probably made this car officially uncool. Whoops.
There were some nice peoples (youth from my church) who came by to give me breaks. Later on, I forced them to take over for me. Standing in the sun for 3 hours made me super tired.
This was my lunch:
I don’t really like hot dogs, but I was given free tickets and I had no other choice for lunch. Plus, I was hungry, so I couldn’t be too picky.
Later, Jane and I went over to the break room where I saw the most beautiful thing in the world:
^I know. I would love to have this at my work (or my room). It had all different kinds of snacks in it… and I went for the Fiber One bar :P
Check out this GIGANTIC apple pie!!! It was left over, so we split it up and put them on to the left over frisbees (which can also be plates, haha) to take home.
So this fair was an event to raise money for the Davis Street Family Resource Center, and it was put together by Steve from the FH Dailey dealership (and his wife, Jane, and many many volunteers). He is going to have this event next year to raise even more money for that organization, so come out if you can!
Steve treated us out to dinner. We went to a Chinese restaurant in Fremont and Jane ordered us many different dishes (good thing she was there because everything is written in Chinese= authentic).
This was authentic sweet and sour pork:
Here is a spicy tofu dish:
Okay, there were like 5 more, but I won’t list them all. Basically, it was all super duper yummy. I honestly couldn’t believe that I liked every single dish so much. My plate was a mess!
After we were all stuffed, we went next door the Tapioca Express for something sweet. Joy treated us to drinks, and I got a Vietnamese iced coffee. Lots of condensed milk= super sweet= okay by me.
Oh, MAN! I am super duper bloated today… but in like a super sexy way.
Haha, I joke. There’s no possible way to make my bloat sexy.
So anyways, I realized it has been a while since I did a P90X workout, so I did the Back and Biceps video and LOVED IT. I actually wrote everything down, and the last part of the notes looks totally illegible because those stupid biceps curls (in many different variations) made my arms so tired and shaky.
I was able to use the 12’s in the first few sets, but the later ones required me to move down to 8’s. DARNSIT. I’ll work up to being able to do all of them with 12’s… one of these days.
It’s kind of sad that I can’t even see any definition right now since I have been eating horribly. Yeah, I’m turning into one of those meatheads who stare at themselves while working out at the gym and flexing and crap (too bad that when I flex, it looks the same as when I’m relaxed. Boo). I’ll officially be a meathead once I start grunting, huffing and puffing, AND walking circles between sets.
I’m hanging out with some hot mamas today. It has been a long time since I’ve seen them and their babies, so I’m excited!
Hope you enjoyed your 4th of July!
