Went on a random long run today.
I did not fuel properly… as in: I ate breakfast a 7:30 am, went for the run at 10:30am, and forgot to bring anything with me.
Anyways, here are some pictures from the run!
I was definitely set on finding my way to the GG Bridge.
Had to make my to Baker Beach for part of it (because I didn’t see a sidewalk on Lincoln).
Running on this soft sand was no easy. I just walked…
And then I got so close. It was just over this hill:

And seeing this sign meant I was going the right way!
And this is how far I got… since there was construction or something happening:
The view on the way back was pretty nice!
And guess who I saw going back toward school?? JOSH (Joe’s brother) and his friends from Korea! How insanely random! What were these guys doing way out here on my stomping grounds?
(Actually, it was more like Josh spotting me… I was totally hungry and not paying attention to anything while going up the steps at Land’s End).

So… you know how I was incredibly hungry and without any food or electrolytes for about 5 or 5.5 hours by then?
Yeah. I couldn’t keep up my jog/run. I had to end my run at 16 miles, with the last mile being 8:25 (fastest). 2:33:xx to finish that crap. And then I walk/jogged my way back home for 2.5 miles (25 minutes).
For next time… I need to eat something before the run or bring snacks. The last few miles were AWFUL.
Oh, well. I still got to enjoy the beauty of the day. BTW, it is usually windy and cool, but it was pretty much not windy and kind of hot during today’s run. Lovely, except I think I sweat out all of my electrolytes and used up all my carbohydrate reserves… hence, hitting the wall around mile 16 (not really, haha… I usually hit the wall around mile 21 or 22 of a race it’s a LOT uglier).
Leaving for LA tonight with Joe and Josh. We’re going to go party it up with Esther (she is in Pharm school at USC. What a smarty ;)).
